ALMOST 900 drivers have served their bans for accruing 12 penalty points and are back on the roads.

Under the system, any motorist who clocks up 12 points within a three-year period is disqualified from driving for six months.

Disqualified motorists must surrender their licence at their local motor tax office until the six-month ban expires.
