Most uniform aid requests met

ALMOST four-in-five of the record 155,119 applications for support with the cost of uniforms have been processed by the Health Service Executive.

Families have until the end of September to apply for the Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance, but those who have made claims up to the end of last week is almost 10,000 more than a year ago and €53.5 million had already been paid out to 109,500 households.

Applications are being finalised in just nine days in some regions.
