A TOP civil servant has been drafted in to take over the running of the Adoption Board following the sudden departure of the chief executive last month.

The Office of the Minister for Children confirmed that the duties of chief executive of the board had been “temporarily” taken over by director-general of the department Mary Doyle.

John Collins left the post of chief executive of the Adoption Board at the beginning of July. He has transferred to the Department of Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs.
