112-year-old flags given to Thomond

THE rugby museum at Thomond Park was yesterday presented with two flags which were used at an international match in Limerick over 112 years ago.

The two touchline flags were used at a game between Ireland and Wales, played at the Ennis Road in 1898.

The flags had previously been held in the city’s Jim Kemmy Museum.
