Falling rents help reduce cost of going to college for second year

FALLING rents have contributed to the cost of college dropping for a second year, according to analysis at Dublin Institute of Technology.

But the findings still show that even those getting full grant support may still need at least another €2,500 to fund the next year in third level education.

DIT Campus Life’s annual cost of living guide shows that overall, expenses are likely to be down 4% this year, with a 5% to 10% drop in average rents for student accommodation a major factor.
