Cllr Brendan Leahy, who is based in Skibbereen, Co Cork has launched ‘An Island In Time’ to raise funds for Daniel Crowley and Stephen Calnan.
Cllr Leahy, who is a paramedic with the HSE said while he was out canvassing one of the boy’s fathers asked if he would help them with the fundraising.
“I said yes, just let me get this election out of the way first,” he said.
Time slipped by but the CD was launched by film producer David Puttnam at a special function in the West Cork Hotel, Skibbereen over the weekend.
The title of the album ‘An Island In Time’ is taken from the first track on the album written by Donagh Long about Cape Clear.
Daniel Crowley was just six-months-old when he was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.
Now two-and-a-half, Daniel, who lives in Baltimore, is under the care of the Cystic Fibrosis Team at Cork University Hospital.
Stephen Calnan, is a young sports fanatic who became ill a few years ago when he was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH), a rare disorder that occurs when there are too many of a type of white blood cell called a Langerhans cell in the body.
