A MAN who left a betting shop with €250 in his wallet was attacked and robbed in a nearby laneway, a court heard yesterday.

A man arrested in relation to Thursday’s robbery charge was refused bail in Cork District Court.

William Joseph O’Brien of 23 Dunmore Gardens, Knocknaheeny, Cork, was charged with the robbery of a wallet containing €250 and a mobile phone from John Boland at Widderling’s Lane, Pope’s Quay, Cork.
