THE brother of convicted rapist Larry Murphy, due for release next month after 10 years in jail, has insisted the Arbour Hill prisoner will not be living with his family when released.

On the issue of the disappearance of three women, believed murdered, in which his brother is a suspect, Tom Murphy from Baltinglass, Co Wicklow said he “could not put his hand on his heart and say he didn’t do it”. He accepted that since his brother’s arrest “there is nobody else gone missing and I find it difficult now to believe he wasn’t involved”.

In an emotional appearance on RTÉ’s Miriam O’Callaghan show on Saturday night, Mr Murphy said: “I want to make it clear to the locals in my local villages in Co Wicklow that Larry will not be living with me, my partner Helen and my kids.”
