THE Fáilte Ireland Dublin Horse Show is worth €43 million to the national economy, it was revealed yesterday.

An assessment conducted by Indecon, the international consultants, showed the event contributed a total direct expenditure of €18.3m, and a total direct, indirect and induced expenditure of €43m to the economy.

RDS chief executive Michael Duffy said the overseas visitors alone directly spent an estimated €3m during their visit to the show, which will have a total prize fund of over €920,000 this year.
