Two arrested over gangland murder ‘did not set him up’

GARDAÍ are satisfied that two people, including a 15-year-old boy, arrested in connection with the gangland murder of Stephen Byrne were not involved in setting him up.

The teenager was arrested in connection with the murder itself, while the other man, aged in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of withholding information relating to the fatal shooting.

But gardaí are now satisfied the 15-year-old was not involved in setting Byrne up and that the other man was not withholding information about the murder.
