Cable firm jobs at risk

THE 104 staff of a copper-cable manufacturer will know within the next few hours whether or not they are to lose their jobs due to the company’s closure.

The omens for B3 Solutions did not appear to be good last night as the receiver was unable to tell staff of any parties interested in taking over the troubled Longford firm.

SIPTU which represents the staff, said accountants from Deloitte, which is acting as receiver, had confirmed midday today was the deadline for finding purchasers interested in buying the company as a going concern.
