A TYPING error on the public notice announcing Eirgrid’s intention to apply for planning permission to build the much-needed €200 million north-south electricity interconnector has led to the planning application being thrown out.

Eirgrid management said it was withdrawing the application and would re-submit it “in a matter of months”.

It was on day 21 of the oral hearing, last Thursday, that an observer pointed out to Eirgrid management that the height of the towers was printed incorrectly on the public notice highlighting plans to seek planning permission.
