Two masked raiders threaten elderly woman

GARDAÍ are searching for two masked raiders who forced their way into an elderly woman’s West Cork home, grabbed her by the throat and threatened her with a wooden baton.

Superintendent Pat Maher, who is leading the Garda investigation, said the woman had gone to bed after her husband had left their house to travel into nearby Clonakilty.

She later heard a noise at the door and presumed he’d returned without his key.
