Stigma a ‘big factor’ in mental health

The survey, conducted by Millward Brown and co-funded by the national Office for Suicide Prevention and the HSE, canvassed the views of 977 people around the country in face-to-face interviews.

It found 7% had personal experience of mental health issues, while 29% had cared for a family member or loved one with metal health issues and 8% had worked in a professional capacity with someone with a mental health issue.
