ENDA KENNY resisted calls from Richard Bruton to resign as Fine Gael leader and prevent a bloody vote today.

Momentum was thought to have swung to Mr Bruton yesterday as a number of prominent party members came out in his support.

They included Charlie Flanagan, who had been justice spokesman in Mr Kenny’s frontbench until he dissolved it this week, and Kieran O’Donnell, whom Mr Kenny had appointed as economic spokesman after sacking Mr Bruton on Monday.
