Only six counties see drop in numbers claiming dole last month

KERRY was one of only six counties which saw their total dole claimants decline over the last month, according to new figures.

Earlier this week, the Central Statistics Office released its latest Live Register totals showing that the numbers signing on rose by 6,600 from April to May bringing the total to 439,100.

Men accounted for 4,400 or two thirds of the increase.
