DÁIL deputies spent two hours yesterday morning fighting about how to organise just 11 hours of parliamentary business next week.

There were angry scenes, one member (Bernard Durkan) was suspended and Ceann Comhairle Seamus Kirk was accused of political bias in favour of his former Fianna Fáil colleagues.

Both the opposition and the Government alleged the other was trying to avoid a normal business next week because the surprise session would clash with politicians’ mid-term holidays.
