A PROPELLER fault on the Rachel Corrie ship prevented more Irish citizens being caught up in the Israeli commando attack on the Gaza aid flotilla.

Despite two inspections before setting sail the boat was halted just hours out of Dundalk harbour when it developed a propeller problem.

It had to pull into Greenore for three days of repairs.

The ship then set sail and is now reportedly between 24 and 48 hours away from the area where the other vessels were attacked.
