SERVICES to more than 60 people in Limerick with intellectual disabilities are to be drastically reduced from this month, due to government cutbacks.

A funding cut of €1.08 million to the Brothers of Charity in Bawnmore was yesterday branded a “disgrace” by Fine Gael’s Kieran O’Donnell.

The party’s deputy finance spokesman said: “This cut will result in a reduction of vital services throughout the organisation and furthermore is resulting in the forced closure of their respite care services in Limerick.
