Four questioned over fatal car crash released

FOUR people who were questioned on Thursday in relation to an incident linked to a fatal car crash the previous week have been released without charge. The three men and one woman were released from Tralee and Gurranabraher Garda Stations, with a file being sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Two of them, who range from their early 30s to mid-50s, were picked up by officers at 7am on Thursday morning under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, which legislates against abduction and false imprisonment.

By 2pm that day, one of the men who was being questioned at Tralee was released, with a six-hour extension on the second man being obtained by gardaí at Gurranabraher.
