Ex-Garryowen player drowns

A FORMER Garryowen rugby player has drowned in a fishing accident in the US.

Derek Murphy, 42, was in a boat with a friend on the Mississippi near New Orleans when it sank and they both drowned.

His body was recovered by New Orleans port authority personnel.
