THE lazy, hazy days of summer are on their way – and what better way to spend a summer’s evening than stretched out on the Co Cork coast listening to a mini funk orchestra that counts President Barack Obama, David Byrne and Q-Tip among its fans.

The line-up for Kinsale Arts Week Charles Fort gigs has just been announced and big interest is expected in the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, who will play Charles Fort on Thursday, July 15.

The Bootleg Beatles, no strangers to Glastonbury and even Buckingham Palace, will be filling the stage with the sound of the ’60s on Friday, July 16, while sultry chanteuse, Camille O’Sullivan, will bring her red-hot new show to the 17th century fort on the Saturday night. Maria Doyle Kennedy will support Camille while the All-Nigerian Afrobeat & Highlife band Oleku will do warm-up for the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble.
