THE Minister for Social Protection yesterday ruled out reviewing the four-year lead-in time for a new retirement age of 66.

Eamon O Cuív said the current pensions system was “not sustainable” and so the increasing of the state pension age by one year to 66 by 2014 was necessary.

He also said he would reflect on suggestions that pensions should not be paid to people who have not retired.
