POLICE chiefs in the north and south of Ireland have vowed to stand together against the dissident republican threat.

Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy met his PSNI counterpart Matt Baggott and justice ministers for both jurisdictions at Stormont.

“An attack on one member of one force is an attack on both forces,” Mr Murphy said, adding that Monday‘s attack at MI5’s headquarters at Holywood, Co Down, was a reminder that dissidents still had the capacity to do harm.
