Crew rescue

A LIFEBOAT crew came to the rescue of six people onboard a 45ft wooden charter schooner which went aground on Thursday afternoon in Roaring Water Bay, west Cork.

Three men, three women and a young girl were on board at the time the schooner got stuck on rocks at Skeam Island.

The Baltimore inshore lifeboat Bessie managed to tow the vessel off the rocks and escorted it back to Sherkin Island.
