Private hospital signs €750k deal for advanced IT system

THE operators of a €90 million private hospital due to open in Cork this summer have signed a €746,000 ($1 million) deal for the installation of an advanced IT system.

The system in Sheehan Medical’s new Cork Medical Centre in Mahon will allow the hospital’s consultants to access patient information anywhere in the hospital.

But it will also be accessible by external medical practitioners, such as GPs or physiotherapists, caring for the patient after their discharge from hospital.
