Labour wants ‘strategic investment bank’

A NEW state bank should be set up to provide credit to promising businesses and fund key infrastructure projects, Labour has said.

The party proposed a “strategic investment bank” yesterday ahead of the expected Government recapitalisation announcement next week.

The Government is expected to outline how it will pump billions more of taxpayers’ money into the country’s main banks.
