Driver dies in truck accident

A TRUCK driver died after his trailer, which was carrying 306 calves, overturned on a corner an inquest heard yesterday.

Paul Townsend, aged 37, of Wainsfort Manor Green, Terenure, Dublin, died after his truck left the road near Mooncoin, Co Kilkenny, on May 7, 2009.

A witness, who was driving behind Mr Townsend’s truck, told the court he saw the back, right-hand wheels on the trailer lift one at a time as he rounded a corner.
