Varadkar urges unions to target Government not the public
But union sources rejected this suggestion, claiming the politicisation of strike action is not allowed in the current industrial relations legislation and could lead to workers being sacked.
As industrial action lead to angry scenes at the passport office in Dublin yesterday, Deputy Varadkar said: “At the moment the unions are targeting ordinary people. They are targeting people trying to get a passport, they are targeting school children, they are targeting people collecting social welfare.
