Clohessy: Rugby on Good Friday is bad idea

FORMER rugby great and Limerick publican Peter Clohessy has added his weight to a growing campaign to reschedule the Munster versus Leinster Magners League game in Thomond Park from Good Friday when all pubs are closed.

Mr Clohessy said: “Move it to Thursday and everyone would be happy.”

The game had originally been fixed for Easter Saturday but the rugby authorities moved it back to Good Friday to give the teams a longer rest period before big Heineken Cup games they are contesting the following week.
