1,700 people answer call for online idea competition

MORE than 1,700 people have answered Ireland’s call within the first fortnight of the Your Country, Your Call competition, adding fuel to claims the online contest could help save the Irish economy.

Exactly 14 days after the nationwide initiative was launched by Irish president Mary McAleese, 1,731 proposals have been lodged with the group.

The figure, which means an average of 133 ideas are being registered every day, has been welcomed by organisers of the competition, who hope the proposals put forward will create thousands of jobs in Ireland.
