Mascot Maul: Paws for fowl play

WHEN a wolf tried to go munchin’ on a chicken yesterday he got much more than he bargained for.

In fairness to the bird-brained canine, the particular fowl he was taking on seemed well prepared to fight his corner as he was already wearing boxing gloves on his wings.

The impromptu “maul of the mascots” was captured by our photographer Dan Linehan during the half-time team talk at the keenly contested Avonmore Munster schools junior cup rugby game between St Munchins and Ardscoil Ris at Coonagh, in Limerick.
