Largest seizure of criminal cash revealed in court

THE largest seizure of criminal cash – totalling almost €680,000 – was revealed in the courts yesterday.

A dramatic photograph of the haul shows volumes of thick bundles of €50 notes packed into a large suitcase.

The massive cache was intercepted from Irishman Mark Lee at Dublin Airport on March 15, 2008, as he was about to board a flight to Brussels.
