Winning €7m jackpot is child’s play for Michelle
The champagne flowed freely yesterday when Ireland’s newest millionaire travelled to Dublin to collect winnings in excess of €7 million.
Lucky lady Michelle Ryan from Co Westmeath, arrived at the National Lottery HQ in a busload of supporters which included her partner, businessman Tommy Joyce, and her seven-year-old son Dylan.
Her windfall, worth a grand total of €7,457,357, was the jackpot from last Saturday’s Lotto draw.
On the same Lotto ticket she also had a Match 5 prize, worth €1,839, but then again she did spend almost €100 on last Saturday’s gamble.
“It was my son Dylan picked the numbers a couple of months ago and we have been using the same numbers ever since,” she said as she arrived in Dublin to gather her loot.
She spent €95 on the Lotto last weekend and this was the first time she ever won anything.
“I suppose the first thing will probably be a new car and a new car for my partner Tommy. And I suppose a couple of holidays and we’ll help out the families as well.”
She will continue to play the Lotto, she said, despite her enormous win.
