SUB-ZERO temperatures, rain and a bitter wind. It sounds like dream conditions for hardened rugby star Donncha O’Callaghan, but maybe not what he wanted for his wedding day.

A veritable who’s who of Irish rugby turned out to see the Munster and Ireland star tie the knot in St Columba’s Church in Douglas in Cork yesterday.

Given the somewhat inhospitable weather conditions, the bride’s walk up to the church was littered not with rose petals or confetti, but with a good scattering of plain old table salt.
