Cork businesses scoop two food awards

CORK businesses carried off two prizes at the Good Food Ireland Awards held at the K Club in Co Kildare yesterday.

Claire Nash of Nash 19, won the Host of the Year Award while the Glebe Gardens and Café in Baltimore, Co Cork, was awarded the Top Regional Member South Award.

A total of 19 Cork establishments and food producers were nominated for the 2009 awards. Claire Nash said: “The quality of the food served here today and the amount of nominees from Cork goes to show the county’s place at the heart of good Irish food.”
