DPP file over serious assault

GARDAÍ investigating the serious assault on a man walking alone in Galway city centre on Thursday are preparing a file for the DPP.

The man was attacked on Market Street early on Thursday morning and was struck on the head with an iron object.

A man who was arrested at Briarhill on the east of the city later that day was questioned all yesterday and gardaí have stated that a file on the matter is going to the DPP.
