Over 4,000 college applicants set to receive good news

Despite fears that extra places would be limited after a high uptake of round 1 offers, 2,095 people are getting an offer for the first time. A further 1,916 offers are going to some of the 47,000 people offered a place last week, who are getting a chance to enter one of their higher preference courses.

Last year, most of the 890 applicants who got their first offer in round 2 were Leaving Certificate students benefiting from a drop in points.
