Nation braces itself for foreign media scrum to cover Lisbon poll

CLOSE to 600 journalists, TV crew members and international commentators are expected to focus the world’s attention on Ireland during voting on the Lisbon treaty referendum in six week’s time.

Preparations begin today for the media whirlwind that will arrive on our shores ahead of voting day on October 2.

Government departments are meeting in Dublin Castle to organise the logistics of hosting some of the world’s media crews who are expected to come from as far away as Japan and the United States.
