GRIND schools expect a significant fall-off in students for the upcoming Leaving Cert year due to the economic crisis.

One of the country’s best known repeat colleges, Limerick Tutorial Centre, expects its Leaving Cert numbers to fall to 240 this year from the 280 who enrolled last year.

During the economic boom the college was taking in up to 380 students each year.
