Getting in touch with God as we dial R for recession

NO matter how great the challenges the rat race of modern life throws at them, the public are clearly determined to Always Look on the Bright Side of Life – though admittedly with a little help from God.

Disaffected with traditional nine-to-five toil, a survey of people using directory enquiries found a huge year-on-year increase in the numbers looking to get in contact with theatrical agents (42%) and record companies (31%). And as well as becoming more artistic, many are finding a more spiritual approach to the challenges of society with calls to churchessurging by a massive 34%.

The survey compared call volumes in June 2008 with those in June 2009.
