A TEENAGER knocked down while out cycling with friends on Wednesday last died from his injuries yesterday.

Jake O’Donoghue, aged 14, from Innishannon, Co Cork, was surrounded by his parents Sean and Ann and other family members at Cork University Hospital (CUH) when the decision was taken to switch off his life-support machine.

However, his tragic death will mean a new lease of life for several patients waiting for organ transplants.
