Rugby hero bags sexiest man title
But now hundreds of people in Limerick have given their opinion on Judge O’Donnell, naming him one of the 50 sexiest men in the city.
Judge O’Donnell was named 7th sexiest Limerick man in a reader’s poll conducted by the Limerick Chronicle newspaper.
The top award went to rugby star David Wallace who came in ahead of top boxer, Andy Lee.
Businessman Liam Dwan filled third spot.
Another legal figure, barrister, Emmet O’Brien was voted into fourth place.
David Wallace said he was very flattered at being named Limerick’s sexiest man.
“But it’s all just a bit of good fun,” he added.
David said he was getting lots of texts about his nomination while touring with the Lions in South Africa.
“It’s good to finish ahead of Quinny (Alan Quinlan who finished sixth) and I’d like to thank everyone who voted for me,” he said.
Many of those who voted for David mentioned the picture of him emerging from a swim in South Africa, looking, according to some, like James Bond.
David said: “It wasn’t staged. It was actually a recovery swim after a training session.”
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Willie O’Dea was ranked 24th.
He admitted to being “puzzled” by his shock inclusion on the list.
“I was surprised to be on it,” he said. “I was surprised to be up there in such august company with all the handsome fellas around town.”
He was also mystified about how he had such an effect on women.
“I don’t know what it is – it’s nothing immediately obvious to me anyway,” he added.
