Intel to cut 294 jobs at Leixlip plant as demand for chips falls
The company, which is one of Ireland’s biggest employers, told staff at a series of meetings at its Co Kildare base that there had been a reduction in demand for the products made in its Ireland Fab Operations facility.
“The employees and company will engage in a process of consultation over the next number of weeks to determine which employees will be specifically affected by this action,” a spokesman said. “The affected employees will be given the same severance package on offer in the voluntary programme earlier this year.”
