THE Government has been accused of being cowardly by hiding behind the Bord Snip report to minimise the blame they get for severe spending cuts.

As the Labour Party leader Eamon Gilmore continued to attack the Government over many of the proposed spending cuts and how they were presented, Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny has so far failed to comment on the issue.

The party’s finance spokesperson Richard Bruton said yesterday that Government ministers “must not sit on their hands and pretend they have no role when they clearly have vital information on the potential impact of different cuts, and on frontline delivery”.
