A damning commentary, says Labour
Fine Gael said the Government should not “go into hiding” after the publication of yesterday’s Bord Snip report containing hundreds of recommendations on spending cuts mainly in the areas of social welfare, health and education.
The main opposition parties failed to outline where exactly they would make the €4 billion in savings required to bridge the gap in public finances. But they said they would nail their colours to the mast on what cuts are needed ahead of the 2010 Budget which is likely to be delivered in December.
