Controversial bill to tackle gangland crime passed in Dáil

THE Government’s controversial measures to tackle gangland crime have been comfortably passed in the Dáil.

Fine Gael voted for the bill, even though it criticised the government decision to cut short debate on the legislation.

Labour and Sinn Féin voted against the bill, as did Independent TD Maureen O’Sullivan.
