UP to 1,000 new permanent jobs will be created this year in the latest reconfiguration of services by the Health Service Executive.

The health authority also confirmed the new posts would be front-line services posts for new developments

Trade union leaders received assurances from the health authority there would be no compulsory redundancies for permanent employees. The unions were also told that temporary employees with more than 12 months’ service would not have their contract terminated.
