UPROAR gripped the Dáil yesterday as Brian Cowen admitted one in six people will be unemployed by Christmas.

Angry exchanges saw Labour leader Eamon Gilmore accuse the Taoiseach of trying to deliberately mislead TDs by announcing only the seasonally adjusted jobless figures during Leaders’ Questions.
