IRISH people have one of the highest rates of home ownership in westernEurope but fewer families here live in apartments than any other Europeans.

A new EU survey provides further proof of our attachment to property with over three-quarters of Irish householders owning their own home compared with just 46% in Germany.

The wide-ranging survey on the living habits of European consumers also reveals that a high proportion of Irish people like to engage in cross-border shopping as well as buying online.
